More reviews!
Last week, I received a message from Jason Quibilan, also known as Camtrader on PiPho. He asked me if I was interested in meeting with him regarding a proposition of his. Personally, the idea really intrigued and excited me, so a couple of days later we met, and I came home with this:

Camtrader is a new company that is offering innovative new products to the Philippine photography scene. From facilitating trade of second-hand photography items to offering lens rentals, Camtrade is sending waves of G.A.S. through many a photographer's heart. They have a trading section set up on PiPho, and their introductory thread can be found here.
Aside from the services I mentioned before, they also supply hard-to-find photography items to the local market. During our meeting, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that Camtrade wanted me to review their products. They said that they were impressed with the review and endorsement that I gave the Cactus V4 triggers that they decided to add it to their portfolio, and it has been selling well for them since. So, here I am with a wavemaker in the market asking me to take some of his stuff and write what I think about them, who am I to decline the offer?
When Jason came into the Starbucks where we met, he was carrying this large case-like bag on his back. First thing that came to my mind is that he looked like Kankuro from the anime show Naruto. That's the case that I have pictured above. Inside it were these Strobist babies:

The LumoPro LP120

First of all, we have the LumoPro LP120 flash. This flash was actually designed with input from David Hobby of Strobist.com fame.
Next, we have the Strobist standby, the lightstand kit:

These are the 5-section stand, the umbrella adapter, and the double-fold umbrella. Stands, adapters and umbrellas are readily available in the local market, but these babies have characteristics that make them particularly interesting for mobile strobist enthusiasts.
The Orbis Ringflash Adapter

Lately David Hobby has been toying with this, and it's quite exciting for me that I will be able to play with one as well!
Lighting bags

These bags are actually quite interesting items, and Jason shared with me that they are now in talks to have these marketed in other countries.
Stay tuned to this blog to see what impression these items left on me ;-)
